Elmer  Curry
MSgt Elmer (Tom) curry slipped peacefully from this life on Friday November 29 at his home in Phoenix surrounded by his loving family. Although his body succumbed to Alzheimers, he never failed to recognize family and close friends.
Tom was born in Natchitoches Louisiana on October 19, 1926 to Henry and Nell Curry. Following high school he moved to San Diego CA. He joined the Air Force in 1951. He loved military life and was exceptionally suited for it. He was often singled out and used as an example of an exemplary airman in dress,military bearing,initiative and leadership. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. His last assignment was to Williams AFB AZ where he and his family resided in Mesa for forty four years. He retired on November 30,1977. He departed this life almost 42 years to the day of his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Dolores; son Charles, daughters Brenda Gray, Kim Boganey (Stan), and Karen Stewart Warren), 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at First Institutional Church where he served as a deacon and deacon emeritus, 1141 E Jefferson Phoenix, AZ,
Dr Warren H Stewart Sr, officiating, Tuesday November 10 at 11 am, viewing 1o a.m. Burial at Veterans National Cemetery Phoenix.
