Lynn Lorraine Sperry

August 27, 1948 - November 26, 2018

Lynn Lorraine Sperry Lynn Lorraine Sperry was born in Alhambra, California on August 27th, 1948. She was the oldest child of Don and Lorraine Sperry, with one living sibling, Craig Sperry. She was not married. Her only child, Derek Sperry, lives in Phoenix with his wife and two children. Lynn resided in Southern California from birth until 1982, and moved to Arizona in 1985 with her son. She moved to Gilbert in 2003 where she resided at the time of her passing. She passed away on November 26th, 2018 from a tragic accident at her home.

Lynn was a pioneer in the Southern California banking industry, becoming the first female Vice President of her banking association. She moved into the Real Estate sector and was a Branch Manager for two decades. She taught Real Estate courses for over a decade with Maricopa Community Colleges and AZRE. Her final job as Designated Broker was the culmination of a lifetime of excellence in her fields.

Lynn was an incredibly strong woman. She was diagnosed and beat breast cancer twice in her lifetime. She birthed and raised her son as a single-mother. She volunteered and donated her efforts to many charities locally and internationally. She was truly a force.

Most importantly, Lynn was an epitome of love and giving. All who knew her felt her kindness, compassion, and nurturing spirit. She absolutely loved raising her son and most recently being a Nana for her two grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.

We are heartbroken...Lynn was in our wedding over 40 years ago. I met her in Palm Springs 49 years ago, we worked at the same bank and became roommates... Lynn was a huge part of my roots. Heartfelt condolences to Derek and Craig, and her extended family and friends.

Dear family and loved ones, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. It has helped me and many others to know that the Bible promises that soon God “will swallow up death forever” (Isaiah 25:8) . May “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,” comfort you during your time of sadness. (2 Corinthians 1: 3)

I'm so thankful that Lynn was one of my first office managers in real estate. Her smiling face often made a trying day seem tame back in the Dobson Ranch office. I hope her family knows that she was loved at West USA Realty.

I was one of Lynn’s students at SCC. So smart, vibrant— a truly wonderful person. Never got to hear her stories about Whiskey-a-GoGo days. I hope to meet her again someday. My prayers for her family. May the Lord richly bless and comfort you.
