Alejandrina Salcedo Obituary

Gilbert, AZ - Alejandrina Salcedo, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 6th, 2024, after a long and fulfilling life rich with love and laughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who honorably took in the name Nanay. She had a beautiful soul who would help anyone even in her later years. Her radiant smile and laughter lit up any room she entered.

Alejandrina was born on November 27th, 1930 in Cabagan, Isabela Philippines. She married her beloved husband Manuel Salcedo on August 24th, 1946 and together, they had 10 children. After her life in the Philippines, at the age of 63, she moved to Japan then the United States shortly after in 1993 to live with her daughter, Georgina Shaver (Salcedo) and family.

Alejandrina bravely endured World War 2 and survived the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. She mastered 10 languages, including Japanese and Italian. Alejandrina shared her talented voice with legends like Nat King Cole, Elvis, and Frank Sinatra with soulful renditions of Besame Mucho and our favorite church songs including Lamb of God and Feliz Navidad. She was a jokester at heart and never missed an opportunity to make the ones she loved laugh. In recent years, she spent time with her family drawing, reading, playing guitar, and enjoying nature outdoors. Although Alejandrina is gone, her legacy will live in our hearts forever.

Alejandrina was predeceased by husband, and two children: Effern Salcedo and Nida Salcedo. She is survived by her children: Magdalena Embree, Wilson Salcedo, Romeo Salcedo, Perpito Salcedo, Georgina Shaver (Salcedo), Erlinda Salcedo, Ma. Theresa Dacillo, and Manuel Jr. Salcedo, 35 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Private services are under the direction of Abel Funeral Services in Phoenix, AZ. Her celebration of life will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Gilbert, AZ on December 3rd, 2024 at 11:00am. Alejandrina's final resting place will be Infinite Solemnity Anao Mexico, Pampanga, Philippines.
