Mesa, AZ - Barbara Kay McIntyre of Mesa, AZ passed from this life on November 3rd, surrounded by friends at the Palmas Del Sol clubhouse, dancing away at a celebration. Barb was born in Sioux City, IA to Captain and Ruth Maddison. She lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, and (after retiring) Arizona.

Barb leaves behind 2 sisters, Sandy Pogan and Betty White, her daughter Kelly McIntyre of Littleton, CO and son and daughter-in-law Captain and Sandy McIntyre of Eaton, CO. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who love and miss her. She is preceded in death by her sister Gayle Lawson and her husband of 51 years, Keith McIntyre.

Barb grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Nebraska, where she met and fell in love with her late husband. In Colorado, she was an office manager for Keith's law firm for several decades, then served as an athletics secretary for Eaton High School for over 20 years.

Barb was gregarious, exuded joy, and was well loved by students, family, and friends in equal measure. She enjoyed being outdoors, visiting, living in, and working as a campground host at nearly a dozen locations along the Poudre River every summer.

Barb was a ferocious card player, often winning bridge tournaments throughout her life. In Arizona, she would join friends to play cards, go to exercise classes, ride her bike, swim in the pool, go on long contemplative hikes, and dance to her heart's content. She touched the lives of everyone she met for the better and will be missed by all communities, family, and friends she leaves behind.
