Florence, Arizona - Gary is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce, daughters Sandy (Todd) Kilgore (San Tan Valley, AZ), Darlene Tryon (Gilbert, AZ), son Terry (Irma) Tryon (La Quinta, CA), sister Mitzi (Luis) Cantron (Alabama); along with Grandchildren WT, Gary, Wayne, Colette, Jasmine (Dustin), Jayson, Sarah, Kody, Kylee, Nicholas, Robert, Kara (Jeremy), Colten, Travis, Samantha; Great Grandchildren Emily Boo, Emily, Ella, Hendrix, Anastasia, Kaye, Ashtin, Kylie, Magic, Michael, Kaiden, Courtney, Jordan, Kaden, Ace, Irie, Lucas, Liam, Charlize; and Great Great Granddaughter Marceline. Along with several Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and friends from around the world. Gary is an Arizona native and Mesa High Class of 1957 Graduate.

During High School Gary met the love of his life, Joyce and moved to Mesa, Arizona to begin raising his family. He started his career working as a sign technician for the City of Mesa. Because of his drive and quick ability to learn, he quickly moved up into several positions within the Department. Having retired after 31 years from the City of Mesa Gary attained the position of Foreman.

While working and raising a family he pursued his love of Professional Fast Draw, traveling all over the world and winning several world records, with Joyce by his side. Gary was entered into The Hall of Champions in 1979. He is known as a Pioneer of Fast Draw by many. During his time in the sport, he held several positions within the World Fast Draw Association, along with teaching others the sport as a mentor and a friend. He is also known for developing the art of Fast Draw in Japan, respected by many all around the world

Along with Fast Draw he was an avid Hunter, hunting anything from dove to bear. Teaching his children and grandchild the skills of gun safety, showmanship, and introducing them to nature.

Anyone who ever met him could never forget his infectious passion for his family and love for life. Nor did they ever feel a stranger in his company. Family, friends and others whose lives Gary touched are invited to celebrate his life well lived.
