Phoenix, Arizona - Jason R. Amsdill was born May 12, 1969 in Medina, NY to Ella Langdon and Craig Hanmann. On September 12, 2021 at the age of 52 he succumbed to a four month battle with an aggressive form of lung cancer, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jason is predeceased by his father, Craig Hanmann, maternal grandparents, Rose Winters & Richard Langdon, uncle Richard Langdon, paternal uncle Edwin J Hanmann, Jr., best friend & bonus brother, Michael Hood.
Surviving Jason are his children, Erin Amsdill, Joshua Amsdill, Erric Amsdill and Christopher Amsdill, his mother Ella Langdon, sisters, Jaime Perez, Sue Ann Waymire, and Elizabeth Robinett and brothers John W. Kriewald and Christopher Hanmann, he was blessed with several nieces and nephews and two beautiful grandchildren, Areiona and Jaxyn.
Jason expressed his wish to acknowledge Samanth Agnello, his 20-year love as she was significant part of his life as a friend, a companion, (and sometimes pain in the butt), but most importantly the mother and 'step "mother of his four children, of which she raised.
During the last few weeks of his life, he reflected on all the incredible amounts of love he had been a recipient of and how proud he was of his all children.
Jason was a lover of music, and loud at that. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers so much that he had the logo tattooed onto his arm. He loved fast cars and was all about America. He was incredibly gifted when it came to learning. Not only was smart, but he was the perfection of sarcasm and wit and a whole lot of smartass-isms. For example, when discussing music, he wanted to leave with his family as dedications, he said to play Highway to Hell for his mother, just simply to poke the bear of his "bible thumping" mother.
His favorite times were sitting around the campfire with his kids and his friends and giving life lessons to them and making incredible memories. "it isn't the RV that makes the camping trip, it is the people you sit around the campfire with" and "family first, always".
He worked hard and he played harder. As a lifetime member of the Steeler Nation, if was seemingly fitting that he chose to pass into the next life with the opening game of the season, with the Steelers winning.
Our world is forever changed. Our hearts forever will be missing a piece, but we joyously proclaim, till we meet again! There will be a private memorial gathering to celebrate HIS incredibly full life.
