461 N. Cordoba Place, Chandler, AZ 85226 - Mary Elizabeth Hasulak passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 103.
Born in 1922 in Linden, New Jersey, to John Peter and Mary Anna (née Stefanick) Voynick, Mary was the eldest of three children. Her grandparents and mother came to America from Cicehov, Austria-Hungary.
Mary met her beloved husband, Joe, at a church picnic, where she pitched for the girls' softball team. After they met, Mary said, "Do you want to play ball?" They were married for 50 years.
In 1942, Joe enlisted in the Air Corps and served 34 missions overseas as a B-24 pilot. After the war, Joe accepted a position with Standard Oil in New Jersey. They had three children, Mary Ann, Joseph and Joan.
Joe was then offered a position in Japan, where Bob and Don were born. Mary enjoyed sewing outfits for her children. They also lived in South Africa, Indonesia, and South Vietnam.
The family moved back to New Jersey in 1964, where Mary cooked gourmet meals for her family. She and Joe moved to Ahwatukee in 1981. They helped with fund raising to build Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mary's Christian faith was essential to her. She was active in her church women's group and loved to bake for friends and church events.
While in Arizona, Mary played golf, joyfully cared for her grandchildren, spent time reading and solving crossword puzzles. At the age of 92, Mary wrote an autobiography called "Thank You, Joe" as a legacy for her children and grandchildren.
Mary will lovingly be remembered by her daughter, Joan, son, Bob (Diana), daughter-in-law, Kerry, grandchildren, Amber (Larry), Nick, Alex (Madeleine), Rebecca (Todd), Aubree (Gavin), great-grandchildren, Jacob (Megan), Katherine, Andrew, Oliver, Demi, Kylee, Clare, Ethan, Lily, Dylan, Hunter, Gabriel and Tyler. Mary is predeceased by her husband, Joe, her brothers, Joseph and John (Jack), her daughter, Mary Ann, her sons, Joe and Don, her granddaughter, Amy, and her son-in-law, Charles.
