Ted Washburne Obituary
Gilbert, AZ - Ted Washburne died peacefully at age 70 at his home in Gilbert, Arizona on November 29, 2023 with his wife, Katy and family members at his bedside.
He started his own physical therapy practice, Progressive Physical Therapy, in Mesa, AZ during the 80s and 90s, and taught Tai Chi in his spare time.
Ted was multi-talented and athletic. He was a professional dancer, and enjoyed hiking, skiing, sailing, and world travel in his free time. He also remodeled every home he lived in. There wasn't a household task he couldn't do.
He was proud to serve as an operations specialist in the US Navy and volunteered for veterans in Washington State.
He leaves his wife, Katy, his sister, Shelley Washburne Masar, and his daughter, Sarah Horton, a granddaughter, Nicole Svoboda, and his brothers Chris Washburne and Dan Hough, his Aunt Toni, and cousins Jessica and Jocelyn Flint. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Washburne, his mother, Carol Washburne and his father, Norman Washburne.
Plans are being made for a military honors burial and his ashes will be spread at sea near Carlsbad in the spring.
